Questions

Is it really free?

Yes. No signup, no watermark, no daily limit. Pro adds batch and engraving features; the converter itself stays free.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Tracing runs in your browser. The image never leaves your computer.

Which software opens the DXF?

It's DXF R12 with closed polylines in millimetres — the oldest, most widely supported flavour. LightBurn, xTool Creative Space, Fusion 360, Inkscape and AutoCAD all import it. Using a Glowforge? Download the SVG instead.

What images give the best result?

High-contrast pictures: a black logo on white, a silhouette, a stencil. Photos need a clear subject; drag the threshold until the preview shows the shape you want to cut.

Why do holes show up as separate shapes?

That's on purpose. A letter O or a ring needs its inner hole cut too, so the inside outline is exported as its own closed shape.
