Yes. JPG and JPEG are the same format with a different file extension. Both work here, along with PNG, WEBP, GIF and BMP.
JPEG compression leaves faint blocks and halos around edges. Raise the smoothing slider to drop the tiny specks and straighten edges, and move the threshold away from the grey halo (lower it if the background is turning into shapes, raise it if thin lines are breaking up).
Yes, if the subject stands out from the background: a dark object on a light wall, a silhouette, a pet against the sky. The converter cuts along light versus dark, so busy photos with many tones give messy outlines. Crop tight and increase contrast first if you can.
Scan or photograph it flat in good light, then raise the threshold until the pencil or ink lines are solid. If the paper looks grey, lower the threshold so only the lines stay dark. Thick marker lines trace better than thin pencil.
Free, with no signup, watermark or daily limit. Tracing runs in your browser, so your JPG never leaves your computer.
It's DXF R12 with closed polylines in millimetres. LightBurn, xTool Creative Space, Fusion 360, Inkscape and AutoCAD all import it. Using a Glowforge? Download the SVG instead.
